Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the region, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced energy failures after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled over five hundred calls for help across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both areas.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
