Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Party

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team access areas they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
